Who being upon Oath says that a Person now present who calls
himself Charles Pleasant on or about the 6th. of May last published
to this Informant at his house at Honnslow
aforesaid as true
a promissory Note for the payment of Money now produced purporting
to be the promissory Note of John Mears< no role >
tosaidChas. Pleasant
Esquire dated May 3d. 1766 for Eleven pounds nine Shillings
and Six pence [..] directed to Mr. Anderson
Merchant
Mercat
is
Spital Fields
and farther says that
he hath been informed & believes that there is no such Person
as such Mr. Anderson to be found and that said Note
is a false one and that it was published to this Informt.
by said Pleasant knowing it to be so with Intent to Cheat
and Defraud him
