The Examination and voluntary Confession
of Ann Ross< no role > taken before us this 23d. September
1765.

This Examinant says that last Thursday was
Sennight She stole two Tea Spoons the property
of Mrs. Makay, and one Table Spoon and one
Tea Spoon the Property of Mrs. Taylor; says she
Sold all said Spoons to Mr. Trelawney
Haberdasher, in Nightingale Laneeth
in the following manner, Vizt. that she Sold
Mrs. Mackays two Tea Spoons in one Day but
at different hours, one for fifteen, and the other
for Sixteen Pence; says that she told Mr.
Trelawny that She had Stolen two other Spoons
which he desired her to bring and he would
melt them; says that last Friday was
Se'n night about four or five in the Afternoon
She carried the Table Spoon and Tea Spoon above
mentioned to Mr. Trelawney which he bought of her
and bent them, and put them into a Bag, saying that
they would or should be melted before Night; says
that he gave her Six Shillings and Six pence for the
Table Spoon, and twenty pence for the Tea Spoon,
says that when Mr. Trelawney bought one of Mrs. Makcay's Spoons
he broke it, saying it was not good Silver, otherwise he would
give her more for it.
