Upon an Indictment for a Felony in Stealing Seven Yards of
Camblett the property of James Farnham< no role >

John Chapman< no role > of Keet Street in the parish of Saint Matthew Bethnal Green in the County of Middlesex
Weaver lately one of the Headboroughs of the said Parish and Elizabeth Brown< no role > of Brick Lane in the same
Parish Pawnbroker severally maketh Oath And first the said John Chapman< no role > for himself saith that on or
about the second day of March last the above named Defendant Sarah Farmer< no role > was by this Deponent carried
before George Garrett< no role > Esquire one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex and charged before
him by the abovenamed prosecutor James Farnham< no role > with Stealing the said Camblet his property and the said Sarah
Farmer
< no role > was by the said Justice committed to the Custody of the Governor of the House of Correction at Clerkenwell
On the Oaths of the said James Farnham< no role > and the other Deponent Elizabeth Brown< no role > for feloniously stealing seven
Yards of Camblet the property of the said James Farnham< no role > of the Value of ten pence Copy of which said Commitment
is hereunto annexed And this Deponent saith that the said James Farnham< no role > this Deponent and the said Elizabeth

< no role > were by the said Justices bound in Recognizances to prosecute the said Sarah Farmer< no role > at this present General
Quarter Session of the peace holden for the County of Middlesex for the said Offence And this Deponent saith that the said
James Farnham< no role > well Knew where this Deponent lived but without any Notice and unknown to this Deponent he the said
James Farnham< no role > preferred a Bill of Indictment against the said Sarah Farmer< no role > on Tuesday last for a Grand Larceny on
Account of the said Felony and thereupon the said Sarah Farmer< no role > was removed into the Custody on the Keeper of Newgate
and on Wednesday last he said Sarah Farmer< no role > was brought upon her Trial at this honourable Court unexpected to this
Deponent and was discharged as this Deponent has been informed forward of sufficient Evidence And this Deponent saith
that he was on Wednesday last engaged in preferring a Bill of Indictment at Hicks Hall in another Prosecution in respect of
his said Office of Headborough against Robert Welch< no role > and John Woodcock< no role > for a Felony who have at this present Sessions been
Convicted thereupon And this Deponent Saith that had ne known of the Trial of the said Sarah Farmer< no role > he should have
attended thereupon and given what Evidence he knew concerning the said Felony against her and had no Intention whatever
to have neglected the prosecution against bee the said Sarah Farmer< no role > for the said Felony And the other Deponent Elizabeth
Brown
< no role > for herself saith that the said James Farnham< no role > knew where she this Deponent lived and this Deponent expected he
would have given her Notice to have attended with him and joined in the Prosecution against the said Sarah Farmer< no role >
Cut she hearing Nothing of him When this Deponent came to Hicks Hall on Thursday last time enough to have preferred
a Bill of Indictment for Petty Larceny for which the said Sarah Farmer< no role > stook committed, to this Deponent great surprise
she found that the said Sarah Farmer< no role > had been tried for a grand Larceny at this Honourable Court and had been
discharged as this Deponent has been informed for want of sufficient Evidence And this Deponent saith she never had any
Intention whatever to neglect Attending to give what Evidence she could concerning the said Felony against the said Sarah
Farmer
< no role > and it was only by the said James Farnham< no role > proceeding as he did unCrown to this Deponent which prevented her therefore
