AN INQUISITION Indented, Taken for our Sovereign Lord the King, at The Parish
of Saint Paul Shadwell in the County of
Middlesex , the Fifth Day of March in the Twenty second Year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third , by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France,and
Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Phillips< no role >
one of the Coroners of our said Lord the King for the said County, on View of the Body of
Robert Marshamp< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of
Thomas James< no role > , Edward Barkley< no role > , James Felley< no role > , Peter Wallace< no role > , Thomas Street< no role >
John Heartnell< no role > , George Hagleton< no role > , Christian Awe< no role > , Thomas Cannon< no role > , Robert Roberts< no role >

good and lawful Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly
sworn and charged to inquire, for our said Lord the King, when, how, and by what Means, the
said Robert Masham< no role > came to his
Death, Do, upon their Oath, say, That the said Robert Mashamp< no role > on the second Day
of March in the Year aforesaid being asleep in a Hammock on the Half Dock
of a certain Ship called The John and Rebecca then lying on the River Thomas at
Wapping Old Stairs in the parish of Saint John Wapping in the County aforesaid
[..] the said Hammock It so [..] said Robert

[..] aforesaid did Languish [..]
[..] Day of March in the Year aforesaid he the [..] at the
Parish of Saint John Wapping aforesaid in the County aforesaid of the Mortal Bruises
aforesaid did die And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say
That the said Robert Masham< no role > in manner and by the Means aforesaid accidentally
casually and by misfortune came to his Death

IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said Coroner as the said Thomas James< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, on the Behalf of himself and the Rest of his said Fellows, in
their Presence, have, to this Inquisition, set their Hands and Seals, the Day and Year first
above written.
