AN INQUISITION Indented, Taken for our Sovereign Lord the King, at The Parish
of Saint Luke in the County of
Middlesex , the Twenty fifth Day of January in the Twenty second Year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third , by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France, and
Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Phillips< no role >
one of the Coroners of our said Lord the King for the said County, on View of the Body of
Elizabeth Langmead< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of
Vincent Eales< no role > , John Lodger, Joseph Lucas< no role > , John Gilson< no role > , John Prigg< no role > , Roger Perkins< no role > , James
Morrison, John Chandler< no role > , Richard Collett< no role > , John Littleton< no role > , Joseph Watson< no role > , Samuel Smith< no role >
Elisha Ambler< no role > , Thomas James< no role > , John Linfitt< no role > , David Tate< no role > , Joseph Blakey< no role > and Thomas Alvey< no role >

good and lawful Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly
sworn and charged to inquire, for our said Lord the King, when, how, and by what Means, the
said Elizabeth Langmead< no role > came to her
Death, Do, upon their Oath, say, That the said Elizabeth Langmead< no role > On the Twenty first
Day of January in the Year aforesaid being an Infant of the Age of Four Years and
five Months or thereabouts and being standing upon a Landing Place in the Stair Case
of the [..] lling House of her Father. Joseph Langmead< no role > situate [..] the Parish and County
afor [..] which said Landing Place a Lighted Candle [..] ning It so happened
The [..] Trock which she the said Elizabeth [..] and there had

Ja [..] Year aforesaid she the said Elizabeth [..] the Parish
aforesaid [..] the County aforesaid of the Mortal Scorching and [..] ing aforesaid did
Die And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid Do say That the said
Elizabeth Langmead< no role > in manner and by the Means aforesaid accidentally, casually
and by Misfortune Came to her Death
IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said Coroner as the said Vincent Eades< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, on the Behalf of himself and the Rest of his said Fellows, in
their Presence, have, to this Inquisition, set their Hands and Seals, the Day and Year first
above written.
