AN INQUISITION Indented, Taken for our Sovereign Lord the King, at the Parish
of Saint Botolph Aldgate in the County of
Middlesex , the fourteenth Day of January in the twenty Second Year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third , by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France, and
Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Phillips< no role >
one of the Coroners of our said Lord the King for the said County, on View of the Body of
Daniel Patterson< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of
John Francis< no role > Thomas Metcalfe< no role > John Wahn beek John Cooke< no role > John Hays< no role > John Chambers< no role >
Charles Gray< no role > Christopher Hatfield< no role > Samuel Knightley< no role > Robert Pearce< no role > Hugh Sutherland< no role >
and George Cunningham< no role >
good and lawful Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly
sworn and charged to inquire, for our said Lord the King, when, how, and by what Means, the
said Daniel Patterson< no role > came to his
Death, Do, upon their Oath, say, That the said Daniel Paterson< no role > on the Eleventh
Day of January in the Year aforesaid being going over a Wooden Plank one End
of which was then lying on Hawleys wharf in the Parish and County aforesaid and
the other End thereof pon the Gun [..] of a certain Ship called The Inverness Packet
then lying on the River T [..] to the said Wharf It so happened That he

Death

IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said Coroner as the said John Francis< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, on the Behalf of himself and the Rest of his said Fellows, in
their Presence, have, to this Inquisition, set their Hands and Seals, the Day and Year first
above written.
