Informations of Witnesses taken at the Dwelling House of
Daniel Foster< no role > the Sign of the Coach and Horses
in the Parish of Saint Andrew Holborn in the County
of Middlesex on Thursday the secondday of
February1786 . Before Edward Umfrewille< no role > Esquire
one of his Majestys Coroners for the said County touching
the Death of Thomas Clayton< no role > then and
there lying dead as follow

John Phillips< no role > Servant to the deceased Thomas.

Saith That he hath lived Servant with the deceased
about five years. That in May last the deceaseds
Wife died. which Circumstance seemed to affect his
Spirits very much. and at times has been particularly
low spiritedThat about Noon Yesterday he appear
to be exceedingly low and his Spirits much depressed.
and from that time tillabouta tittle past ten
at Night when this Deponent left him to go to
Bed he appeared to continue in the same state.
Saith that about half past Six. O Clock this Morning
Deponent went to Newgate Macbret as his usual
Business was, and on his return at half past Seven
O'Clock. on the Woman Servant Margaret Francis< no role > letting him in he
went in to the Kitchin anddesiredon asking her if
she had called the deceased (who slept in the parlom)
adjoining the Shop (she said no but there was a light in the parlom Upon which this
Deponent Said he would take two flats of buller
which he had purchased and brought Homewill him
into the Shophe did so and put one down and brought
