Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and [..] KING, Defender of
the Faith, Etc. before Edward Umfreville one of the Coroners of Our said Lord
the KING, for the said County, on view of the body of John Combes< no role >
then and there lying dead, upon the oath of Francis Draper Lye< no role > , William
Garison, Edward Jones< no role > , James Brewer< no role > , Thomas Bales< no role > , Thomas Kelley< no role > , Matthew
Fowler, John Wheeler< no role > , William Leech< no role > , George Darley< no role > , William Gardner< no role > , Thomas
Denham , Thomas Herbert< no role > , James Scott< no role > , Edward Wood< no role > , George Leader< no role > , George

good and lawful Men of the said County duly chosen as by Law required, and who being then and there duly sworn
and charged to enquire for our said Lord the KING, when, how, and by what means the said John Combes< no role >
came to h is Death, Do upon their Oath say, That the said John Combes< no role > on
the Eighth Day ofSeptemberOctober in the year aforesaid accidentally, casually
and by misfortune fell down in the Kings Highway in the Parish and County
aforesaid And the off whereof a certain Cart then Passing along the said Highway Did then
and there pass upon and over the Head of him the said John Combes< no role > By
means whereof he the said John Combes< no role > Did then and there receive [..]
one mortal Bruises in and upon the said Head of him the said John Combes< no role >
of which said Mortal Bruise he the said John Combes< no role > then and there died
And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid Do say That the said John
Combes in manner and by the Means aforesaid accidentally, casually and by Misfortune Came to his Death
and that the said Off Wheel of the said Cart was the Cause of the Death of the said John Combes< no role >
and is of the value of one Shilling and the Property of Edward Gray< no role > of the said Parish and County Builder or of his assign

In Witness whereof, as well as the said Coroner, as the said Francis Draper Lye< no role > the Foreman of
the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals the Day and Year first abovementioned
