An Inquisition indented taken to our Sovereign Lord the King at the parish of Saint George the
Martyn in the County of Middlesex , the sixth Day of April in the 22nd. Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the third , by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, KING, Defender of
the Faith, Etc. before Edward Umfreville< no role > Esquire one of the Coroners of Our said Lord
the KING, for the said County, on view of the body of Partick Newland< no role >
then and there lying dead, upon the oath of Edmund Helley< no role > John Scott< no role >
John FifieldRichard [..] Griffith Williams< no role > Joseph Allen< no role > Thomas Clay< no role > James Clegham< no role >
William Havord< no role > Samuel Manley< no role > Edmund Smith< no role > William Newman< no role > Thomas Sympson< no role > Thomas

good and lawful Men of the said County duly chosen as by Law required, and who being then and there duly sworn
and charged to enquire for our said Lord the KING, when, how, and by what means the said Patrick Newland< no role >
came to h is Death, Do upon their Oath say, That Patrick Newland< no role > late of the
parish and county aforesaid laborer on the fourth day of April in the year aforesaid with force and
arms at the parish aforesaid in the county aforesaid in and upon the said Partick Newland< no role > in the
peace of God and of our sovereign Lord the King then and there being feloniously did make an
assault And that the said Partick Newland with both his hands him the said Partick Newland did
then and there strike and beat in and upon the head and body of him the said Patrick Newland< no role > And that the
said partrick newland by the stricking and beating aforesaid did then and there give unto him
the said partrick newland divers mortal bruises in and upon the head and body of him the
said patrick Newland< no role > of which said mortal bruises he the said partrick newland then and there
instantly died and so the jurors aforesaid upon their oaths aforesaid do say that said
Partrick Newland< no role > him the said partrick newland by the means aforesaid did feloniously kill and
slay against the peace of our said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity

In Witness whereof, as well as the said Coroner, as the said Edward Kelly< no role > the Foreman of
the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their
Hands and Seals the Day and Year first abovementioned
