London Deposition of Witnesses taken at
London that is to say at the parish of Saint
Botolph without Aldersgate in the Ward
of Aldersgate without in London aforesaid
this 7th. day of September 1799 on view of
the body of Isabella Lyons< no role > now here lying
Dead

Thomas Wright< no role > a Lodger at the Red Cow Cloth fair Side Long Lane West
Smithfield one of the watchman of the parish of Saint Botolph
without Aldersgate maketh Oath That about one oClock
this Morning Dept. being on his stand at the end of Barbican
Court Barbican a Womansome personcame to him and told him
the Old Saloon Woman (meaning the deced) whom he
has known from Christmas last was lying Drunk in Long
Lane Dept. crossed over Aldersgate Street into Long Lane
and found the deced in a sitting posture near the Wall
of Mr. Bruces's premises [..] a door or two down on the
right hand side from Aldersgate Street -That several people
were round her and she appeared in a drunkenstate
Stupid state and incapable of speaking-Dept. with another
Man moved the deced over tothe CourtBarbican Court and
placed her there in order to let her sleep and recover from
her drunken state she being in right of Dept. Hand That
at four oClock Dept. went off his Stand his time of watching
being up That he endeavoured to rouse the deced that she
still appeared to Dept. to be sleeping. That after Dept had
gone to the watch house to leave his Coat and Lanthernand
he returned again to the deced That she was then in a
Stupid state and Dept. could not rouse her-Dept. went
to the Mother of the deced and informed he of the deced being
there Dept. returned to the deced and soon after the Mother
of the deced came to the deced That she was still insensible
Depts. left hertheMother near her That about five oClock
Dept. lifted the deced up that she then appeared to Dept
to be dead-Dept. then left her with her Mother near her
Dept. says he had spoke to the Mother after she came to the
deced to procure a Surgeon but the declined getting out saying
that the deced was only in a drunking fit and would recover
