An Inquisition Indented taken for out Sovereign Lord the King of London that is to say
at the parish of Saint Ann Blackfriars in the Ward of Farringdon without in London aforesaid
on the eighth day of July in the thirty ninth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the third King of Great Britain and so forth before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner
of our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the
body of Joseph Hopper< no role > now here lying dead by the oath of George Bayly< no role > John Stead< no role >
Samuel Brown< no role > Henry Hilder< no role > Henry Gabrel< no role > Thomas Shallard< no role > Thomas Priddle< no role >
Samuel Nash< no role > Thomas Hunter< no role > John Bain< no role > George Cox< no role > Richard Packer< no role > Thomas
Blinkeo and John Statham good and lawful men of the City of London aforesaid who being
now here duly chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how
and in what manner the said Joseph Hopper< no role > came to his death say upon their
oath that the said Joseph Hopper< no role > then lately before accidentally casually and by misfortune
fell into the River of Thames there situate and in and with the waters of the said River
was then and there suffocated and drowned of which said suffocation and drowning the
said George Bayly< no role > did then and there die-In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner
as the said George Bayly the foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the
rest of his follows in their presence have to this Inquisition set their hands and
seals the day year and place first above written.
