[..] Deposition of Witnesses taken at
London that is to say, at the Parish of
Saint Bridget otherwise Bride in the Ward
of Farringdon without in London aforesaid
this 19th. day of July 1797 on view of the
Body of John Hanson< no role > now here lying
Dead

Samuel Manson< no role > of No. 9 Parsons Court Bride Lane
London Shagreen Case Maker maketh Oath that ½ past
eleven yesterday Morng Dept. was alarmed by a violen shriek
& hearing some person calling out call Marsom call Marsom
Dept. went down stairs into the Court and there saw Robert
Nansons Brother to the deced wringing his hands and saying
Oh my Brother my Brother what shall I dowithDept.
sawsome personone Mrs Cannon in the passage of the home No. 4 where
the deced lived Dept. went into the Yard behind the
house and on looking through the window he saw the deced
hanging by a Cord from [..] a Hook in the cieling of the
back Room Dept. returned into the passage to the Door
of the front Room which was fastened with a Bar inside
a Crack being in the Door Dept. and one Mr. Cotton put a
Knife through the Crackofin the Door & by that means lifted
the Bar up & got into the front Room from whence they went
into the Back Room where the deced was hanging that
a young Man< no role > whose Name Dept. understands is Brown
cut thedecedcord by which the deced was hanging by
which the deced fell [..] across the Bed underneaththat
Dept. & some other persons examined the deced that he
had a cut or wound in the Throat and a cut or Wound
in the lower part of his Bellythat the deced had his
Breeches Stockings & Shoes on but no Shirt & that little
Blood came from the WoundsDept. observed a [..] Knife
and a Razor very bloody upon a Box by the Bedsidethat the deceds
hands were very bloodythat the Wound in the Throat
had not penetrated the Windpipe but the Wound in the Belly
appeared very deepthat the only way into the back Room
where the deced was found is through the front Roomthat the
Windows of the back Room & front Room were fastened with a ScrewThat
