Informations of Witnesses taken
at the parish of Saint Swithen in the
Ward of Walbrook on the 3d day of June
1797 on view of the Body of Thomas Wood< no role >
then and there lying dead.

Sarah Howes< no role > Servant to Stephen Windmill of No 1
Whistlers Court Saint Swithins Lane Taylor saidon her Oath
Saith that on Thursday last in the afternoon the deceased came
to he [..] Masters House [..] to lodge in the front Room one
pair of Stairs which Room had been previously Engaged by
Mr John Neslop< no role > for the Deceasedthat Yesterday Morning
about Eight O Clock Deponent went to Deceased Room to
open the Windows Deceased was then in Bed he told Deponent
he was very dry and said he would [..] have a little Tea
that Deponent asked him if he would chuse any thing to Eat
and he desired to have a bit of Toastthat Deponent
Carried him up a Bason of Tea and some Toast that about
a quarter of an hour afterwards Deponents Mistress desired her
to go up Stairs and see if the Deceased wanted any more Tea
that Deponent went up accordingly and not finding him
in Bed walked across the Room towards a Closet where she
discovered Deceased lying on his Belly with his head in the
theCloset and his Legs in the Bed Room and he was groaning
Deponent thought he was in a fit and ran down stairs to
her Mistress and told her the Gentleman was in a fit and
wanted some person to take him upAnd her Mistress then
went to get assistance. when Deponent first saw him
lay in the Closet he had his Breeches Stockings and Shoes
on that when he came to the house in the Evening he
appeared very ill and low his Brother came with him
and saw him to Bed
