Informations of Witnesses taken at the parish of
Saint Mary Magdalen old Fish Street
in the Ward of Bread Street in London
the 9th. day of July 1796 on view of the
body of a female Child their lying dead.

Thomas Prratt of Aldermary Church Yard London
Surgeon maketh oath that last Thursday afternoon Mary
Whitea servant to Mr. Boston of the Old Charge came
to Depts. Shop and sayed she had been under medical pratmt.,
that she taken some electuary which she had often taken before,
that it had not the desired effect and desired Dept to juce her
something to pass off the electuary she had taken which she sayed
occasioned her pain in her bowlsDept from her general
appearance was apprehensive she was pregnant and he gave
her a gentle opening draft. Says that about an hour afterwds.
Dept was sent for to attend her; he went and found her sitting
in a Chair in the Kitchen of her masters house in a weak and
Saint state, painting frequently. she sayed she had the piles,
[..] She was afterwards taken
up Stairs. Dept there sayed to her that from circumstances he
had great reason to believe that she was pregnant and to
ascertain it it was necessary to examine her. Mr. Dyson was
present and sayed she ought to submit it, or words passed to
the above effect. Mary White< no role > sayed nothing in answer, at this
time she was lying upon a Bed. Dept says he attempted to make
an examination but was not able to do it, because she sayed
she wanted to use the Chamberpot and for went from the bed to
it and sat upon it some time. a few hours afterwards Dept.
remaining of opinion that the said. Mary White< no role > had been pregnant
he searched the privy of Mr. Bostons house and where he found
