maketh Oath that he hath known
the deced
John Crispin< no role >
about eight years that he was a
Mariner
belonging to the said Vessel that about twelve
O Clock in the day of Wednesday last Dept. and the deced
went into a Crane on Hayes's Wharf
for the purpose of we upon
weighing a Case of Copper about seventeen hundred
weight from [..] off the Wharf for the purpose lowering
it into the Hold of the said Vesselthat having weighed
the Copper off the Wharf they thought they could lower
it into the Vesselthat they walked round the inside the
Crane for the purpose of lowering it accordingly that they
had lowered nearly three parts down the Hold of the
Vesselthat the Crane being rather of one side stopt that
the deced putting his foot a little forward to give the Crane
a little more way the Crane set off with great quickness
and onsothatquick that Dept. could not keep in his feet
but fell down that the Crane still going round very fast
the deced was thrown up to the Top & then fell down upon
Dept. and the force of his falling threw Dept. out of the
Cranethat the Crane continued going round with the deced inside it. until the
Goods were landed in the Hold of the Vessel when it stopt
& the deced was taken outthat he had a bad but on the
back part of his Head and [..] a large Cut over each Eye
that his right Leg was very much bruised that the dept. came
with the deced to Guys Hospitalthat he was taken into a
Ward to be taken care ofthat he continued insensible from
the time of taking him out of the Crane until Dept. left him
which was about ½ part two O Clock Dept. understood the
