Deposition of a Witness taken at London
that is to say at the Parish of Saint Bridget
otherwise Bride in the Ward of Farringdon
without in London aforesaid the 2nd. day of
August 1794 on view of the Body of
Benjamin Pope< no role > now here lying Dead.

Margaret Lockyer< no role > Servant to Mr. Briston of Ratcliffe
highway in the County of Middx Enginemaker maketh oath
that she hath known the deced Benjamin Pope< no role > who was a Prisor.
in the Fleet & Father in law to Mr Bristow about eighteen
Months during all which time he has been a Prisoner in the
Fleet about three Months ago he was taken ill with a relax-
ation in his Bowels which continued on him until last Monday
when it stopt and his legs then began to swell and he appeared
to get much worse that he then took to his Bedthat the
swelling appeared to fly into his Stomachthat he was
attended by a Mr. [..] Irnham coroner of princess Street
Ratcliffe highway & also by Mr Irnhams Nephewthat
he continued to get were daily until yesterday afternoon
between four & five O Clock when he departed this Lifethat Dept attended on him
during his illnessthat the Doctor sayed the deceds Death
was occasioned by a Nervous Consumption together with a
natural decay he being an aged Man between sixty and
Seventy Years of age
