An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at
London that is to say at the parish of Saint Bridgetaboutotherwise Bride in the Ward of Farringdon
without in London aforesaid on the twenty fourth day of September in the thirty second year
of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain
France and Ireland King defenders of the faith and so forth before Thomas Shelton< no role >
Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord King for the City of London and Borough of
Southwark on view of the Body of Robert Morris< no role > Grow [..] lying dead by the Oath of
William Rich< no role > , James Dawson< no role > , Stephen Hampton< no role > , John Forbes< no role > , Edward Spearing, Robert Griffith< no role >
Thomas Knapps< no role > , James Hall< no role > , James Dawsy< no role > , James Mulvaney< no role > , Arthur Allen< no role > Justice Hudson< no role >
William Manthrop< no role > , and William Collord< no role > , good and lawful men of the City of London who
being now here duly chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King
when how and in What manner the said Robert Morris< no role > came to his death say upon this
Oath that the said Robert on the twenty first day of September in the year aforesaid
accidentally casually and by misfortune fell into the River Thames and in and with the
Waters of the said River was then and there suffocated and drowned of which said suffocation
and drowning he the said Robert Morris< no role > did then and there die And so the Jurors aforesaid
upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said Robert Morris< no role > in manner and by the means
aforesaid accidentally casually and by misfortune was suffocated and drowned In Witness
whereof as well the said Coroner as the said William Rich< no role > the foreman of the said Jurors
on behalf of himself and the rest of his fellows have in their presence to this Inquisition not
their hands and seals the day year and place first above written.
