Southwark Informations of Witness taken at the
parish of Saint Thomas within the Borough
of Southwark in the County of Surrey on
the 23d day of June 1791 on view of the
Body of Thomas Dowly< no role > now here lying
dead.

William Lane< no role > of No. 33 Leadenhall Street [..] London
Stationer maketh Oath that being in a Room in Cumberland
Gardens in the Parish of Saint Mary Lambeth in the County of
Surrey about the hour of seven in the Evening of Tuesday last She
heard a great explosion from one of the serivals having been as Dept.
understood first off in said Gardens that he went out of the Room
into the Gardens and there saw the deced James Gakes lying on
the Ground near one of the swivels that soon after Dept. saw the
deced Thomas Dowley< no role > leaning against a Tree near the spot where
Gaky lay that the appeared hurt Dept. went to him and asked
him if he was hurt much the sayed he was hurtthat Dept. assisted
in taking Dowley to one of the Rooms in the Gardenthat on
expanding of him they found he had received a Wound in the Lower
part of his Belly in the right side and his Intention appeared
to becoming outthat soon after the deced was taken to the Water
side and put into a Boat to be taken to Guys Hospitalthat Dept
saw the deced [..] lying dead this Evening in Guys Hospital
aforesaid
