Deposition of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say, at the Parish of Christ Church in
the Ward of Farringdon within in London
aforesaid the 5th. day of September 1789 on
view of the Body of William Salt< no role > then and
there lying Dead

William Wright< no role > a Prisoner in His Majestys Gaol of Newgate
maketh Oath and saith he hath known the deced William Salt< no role > about
Seven Weeksthat he was also a Prisoner in the said Gaol
that he hath been in the Sick Ward where Dept. attends the whole of
that time very ill with a fever that he appeared to be getting
better-that about the hour of four in the Afternoon of Yesterday
(4th. instt.) he [..] set up in his Bed [..] eating some
Victuals when all of a sudden he fell back wards upon the Bed and
exposed immediately-that he was attended by the Surgeon of
the said Gaol
