maketh Oath that he hath known the deced

between seven or eight Months-that
on Tuesday the 1st day of November last Dept.theand
deced having been with some other persons amongst
whom was the deceds Wife on board of the Tryal
Sloop then laying in the River Thames
near Horsley
Down Stairs & that Dept. the deced and three Lads
belonging to said Sloop went on Shore to Depts. house
in order to get some Beer and other necessarys the
Master of the said Sloop wished them to go for-that
on their Return to the said Vessel deced, Dept. and
two of said Lads the other having been left behind
being then in a Ssmall Boat belonging to said Vessel
and along side of the said Vessel the deced being
standing on thesaidside of the said Boat endeavoured to
[..] give some Knives and Forks they had brought
from Depts. house to Depts. Wife but the Boat not
being near enough he could not reach that he
turned himself round with his back towards the
said Vessel in order to get the Boat neares but the
tide then running very strong forced the Boat [..]
Fasther from the Vessel and by some means the deced
fell between the Boat and the Vessel into the Water
and Dept. never saw nothing of him until Yesterday
Morning when he saw him lying dead at Horsley
down [..] Stairs in said parish of Saint John.
