Southwark Informations of Witnesses taken at the
parish of Saint Thomas within the Borough of
Southwark in the County of Surrey the 15th. day
of September 1788 on view of the body of
George Gray< no role > there lying dead.

Jacob Frankson< no role > of the two Dutch Skippers Mr. Catherines
Street in the Precinct of St. Catherines in the Co. of Middlesex
Victualler thatmaketh Oath and saith that the deced has
Lodged in his House about a Week that he was a Seafarring
Man and as Dept. understood from the deced himselfthat
he came from the Et. Indies -that about the hour of seven
in the forenoon of Sunday last the Sept. inst: being in his
Bed Chamber he was called by his Servt. Elizabeth Horth< no role >
who told him a Gentl . wanted to speak to him that Dept.
made some scruple at getting up but said Servt. told him he
must getting up that he then get out of Bed put his Claths
on and on opening his Chamber Door said Servant told
him George Gray< no role > Meaning the deced had cut his Throat
that Dept. went up to the Garret in his this Depts. house
where he saw deced of lyinguponwith his Face upon his Arm
that three whenthat Dept. asked some others people the
in the Room if deced was dead that the deced himself
answered [..] and said No that somebody had sent
for Mr. Christian St. George a Surgeon who lived next
door to this Dept. house who came and sowed the deced
Wound in his Throat at and then deced was Conveyed to Saint
Thomas's Hospital in the Borough of Southwark that Dept.
has sent to said Hospital Several times that on Saturday Morning
last he was informed that the deced was dead That some
two or three days before deced cut his Throat he as observed
him very Melancholy and dull.
