Then Mr. Church Warden Scullard Acquainted the
Gentlemen present that Several of the Parishioners had
complained of being Aggrieved and over charged by the
late Church Rate and refused to pay the Same particularly

Mr. John Bromley< no role > and Mr. Thomas Baxter< no role > being present
in Vestry were severally heard in their Place as to the
Matter of their Complaint, and afterwards being
ordered to withdraw It was moved by Mr. James
Spackman< no role > That An Order of Vestry made the first
Day of February 1714 touching Complaints from
Persons Aggreived by a former Church Rate and the
Resolution of the Vestry thereupon might be now read
and the Same was read accordingly

And the Matter of the said Complaint was then taken
into Consideration, and after some time Spent thereon
It was moved that the present Church Wardens and
Overseers may be empowered to Redress such Person or
Persons who were Aggrieved or over charged by the said
Church Rate, and also to Exempt such Person or Persons
who were not able to pay the Same and being Seconded
The Question was putt on the said Motion and
carried in the Affirmative.

Ordered that the prsent C: Wardens &
Overseers to Empowered to redress
such Persons as are aggrieved by
Rate, & also to Exempt such
persons as are not able to pay
same.

Ordered that the present Church Wardens and Overseers
shall be and are by this Vestry empowered to Redress such
Persons as are aggrieved or over charged by the said
Church Rate, and also be Exempt such Person or
Persons as are not able to pay the Same.
