maketh oath That her said husband is now absent from her
in the Kings Service in America That he has informed this
Deponent & which She believes to be true that he was duly
bound to & Served the whole of his Apprenticeship with his
Father John Edwards< no role > in the Parish of Greenwich in the
County of Kent Carpenter & by means thereof gained a legal
Settlement there That to this Deponents knowledge or belief
her Said husband never rented a house of Ten pounds a
Year or upwards nor ever Served any Parish office nor
ever paid any Poors Rates or Kings Taxes nor ever did
any Act to gain a Settlement Since his Apprenticeship
and that She was lawfully married to her Said husband

of August 1778 before

is the widow of Thomas Barrett< no role > deced That her Said
late husband divers Years ago was hired & lived as a hired
Servant by & with Francis Seale< no role > in Seething Lane in the
Parish of Allhallows Barking in the City of London &
Continued in Such Service under Such hiring for divers
Years & by means thereof gained a legal Settlement there
& did not afterwards to this Deponents knowledge or
belief do any Act to gain a Subsequent Settlement nor hath
She this Deponent Since his death done any Act to gain
a Settlement for herself & that She was lawfully married
to her Said husband
