William Lindsay< no role > maketh oath That in the Year
one thousand Seven hundred & Sixty three he lived in & rented
a Room & shop in the Dwelling house of one Mr Joops Situate
in High Holborn in the parish of Saint Giles in the Fields in the
County of Middlesex at the Yearly Rent of Ten pounds & Ten
Shillings & lodged resided thereon for the Space of one Year That the
said Shop was Situated in the Front of the Said house towards
the publick Street Where this Deponent Carried on in a publick
& open manner the Trade & Business of a Salesman to wit in
buying & Selling of Cloaths during Such his Said residence &
by means thereof as he is advised gained a legal Settlement there
in the Said Parish That he this Deponent has not Since rented a
house shop or other Tenement of the yearly Rent or Value
of Ten pounds or served any Parish office or paid Any Poors
Rates or Kings Taxes nor done any Act to his Knowledge or
belief to gain a Subsequent Settlement & that he hath a Wife
named Elizabeth< no role > to whom he was lawfully married
