figures following Vizt. That upon Reading an Extract of the Will of
Stafford Briscoe< no role > late of Twickenham in the County of Middlesex
Esquire deceased dated 25th. August 1786 among other things therein
contained is as follows. Also I give and Bequeath the Sum of
£600 to the standing Committee for the time being of Bethlem Hospital to
be by them Placed out as they Shall see fit as a fund for support of two
persons Incurable Lunatics they preferring the first persons standing on
their List of Patients "This Committee is of opinion and do recommend to
the Court that the said Legacy be accepted All which is nevertheless submitted to
the Judgment of the Court and ordered to be Reported to the next General Court
This Court having duly weighed and considered the said Memorial
doth Order that it be referred back to the said Grand Committee
to carry into Execution so much of the said Mr. Briscoe's Will as relate
to his Beguest to Bethlem Hospital

Upon Reading another Memorial from the Grand
Committee of Bethlem Hospital bearing date the 16th. day of
January Instant under the hands of Richard Clark< no role > Esqr Alderman
Treasurer Henry Cranke< no role > Esquire Auditor General Saml Swain< no role > Esqr .
Alderman Edward Atkins< no role > Esquire Mr. James Bate< no role > The Revd.

Committee having taken into consideration the duly of Mary Davis< no role >
and Ann Nixon< no role > the Laundry Women belonging to this
Hospital which is to receive from the Basket Men and Gallery
Maids all the Dirty Linen belonging to the Patients and Servants
and to return the same when washed and also to assist in washing
Ironing and mending the streets and the Patients and Servants
Linen and the their Salaries for such Business are no more than
Ten Guineas per Annum each And is appearing to this Committee
that they have always done their duty and conducted themselves
to the satisfaction of the Steward and Matron and that since
