Upon Reading the humble Petition of Joseph
Stokes< no role > Citizen and Weaver Settingforth That he served his
Apprenticeship in this Hospital to John Sanders< no role > by Indre
dated the 17th. September 1770 and by an Order of Court of
the 13th. day of May 1778 was made free of this City the 3d
Day of December 1782 was set up for himself in his Trade
as a Weaver at No. 40 Holywell Lane Shoreditch &
Praying part of Mr. Fowkes. It is Ordered that
Mr. Deputy Rogers Mr. Samuel Swain< no role > & Mr. Thos. Phillips< no role >
or any two of them be desired to Inquire if the sd. Joseph
Stokes< no role > is set up for himself in his sd. Trade and of his
hopefulness therein and Report the same to the next Court.
