Apothecary of Bethlem


Upon Reading a Report from the Grand Committee of
Bethlem Hospital under the Hands of Nathl. Thomas< no role > Esqr . Aldn . Treasr .
William James< no role > Esqr . James Hebert< no role > Esqr and Charles Easton< no role > Esqr . bearing
date the 4th. day of September 1778 in the Words following Vizt.
"A Motion being made and seconded that a Gratuity be given to Mr.
Gozna the Apothecary for his Great Care and diligence in the Business of
this Hospital during the Illness and since the death of William
Rashfield
< no role > the late Steward and the Sum of Twenty Guineas being
proposed as a proper Sum and the Question being put it passed in
the Affirmative All which is nevertheless Submitted to the
Judgment of the Court"This Court having duly weighed
and considered the said Report doth confirm the same and it is
Ordered that the Clerk do pay Mr. Gozna the said Sum of
Twenty Guineas to be allowed him in his next Account.

Upon Reading a Report from the Committee of
Bethlem Hospital under the Hands of Nathl Thomas< no role > Esqr Aldn .
treasurer William James< no role > Esqr and James Hebert< no role > Esqr . bearing date
the 26th. day of December 1778 in the words following Dr. Monro
reported to this Committee that he had received of Isaac Hawkins
Brown
< no role > of Great Russell Street Bloomsbury Esqr . a Benefaction of
Fifty Pounds for the Use of Bethlem Hospital which he paid to
Mr. treasurer It is Ordered that Dr. Monro be desired to give
the thanks of this Committee to Mr. Brown for the same And it is
the unanimous Opinion of this Committee that it be recommended
to the General Court that a Staff be sent to Mr. Brown as a
Governor of these Hospitals All which is nevertheless Submitted
to the Judgment of the Court." This Court having duly weighed
and considered the said Report doth confirm the same And it is
Ordered that a Staff be sent to the said Isaac Hawkins Brown
as a Governor of these Hospitals.

Mr. treasurer reported that Mr. John Rogers< no role > had by his
Will dated 24th. December 1766 and proved 24th Decr. 1778 Given
two Hundred Pounds to Bethlem Hospital .

Mr. treasurer reported a Benefaction by Samuel Rush< no role > [..]
of £100.. to Bridewell & Bethlem Hospitals It is Ordered
