resignation of Sir Walter
Rawlinson

to Attend to the Various Duties connected with it so for
the same reason do I now desire to resign the Presidentship of
Bridewell and Bethlem Hospitals , an Honour you were
Pleased to confer upon me and for which I shall ever retain
the most grateful Since being your much obliged and
Obedient humble Servant W Rawlinson".-It is the
Opinion of this Court that the resignation of Sir
Walter Rawlinson< no role > of the Presidentship of these Hospitals be
Accepted Whereupon the Right Honourable Sir Thos. Halifax< no role >
Knight Lord Mayor declared the Vacancy of a President
of these Hospitals and his Lordship was Pleased to declare
that a Court shod. be held on Thursday the 31st. day of July
Instant for the Election of a President and that Notice
thereof shall be Inserted in the Tickets.

A Motion being made and seconded that the
thanks of this Court be given to Sir Walter Rawlinson< no role > for
his diligent care and punctual Attendance whilst
President of these Hospitals It was carried unanimously
in the Affirmative And it is Ordered the Clerk do wait on
Sir Walter Rawlinson< no role > with a Copy of this Resolution.

Committee bearing date the 4th. day of July Instant under

Esqr . and Mr. Samuel Read< no role > in the Words and figures following
"In Pursuance of an Order of Court of the 26th. of June last
whereby it was referred to this Committee to consider the
Petition of the Inhabitants of Bridewell Hospital and
Precinet Praying an Additional Sum of £36.. to Enable
them to pay off part of a Debt of £65..4s. by them Contracted
This Committee having duly weighed and considered the said
Petition and heard what was Alledged by the Inhabitants
in support thereof are of Opinion that the Sum of £26..is a
