Upon Reading the Humble Petition of Thomas
Langley
< no role > of the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden Wine
Merchant in the Words and figures following That
Your Worships by Indenture of Lease bearing Date
the 10th. day of July 1754 Demised to Catherine
Booth
< no role > and Frances Nelson< no role > the Executrixes of Thos:
Booth
< no role > Deceased a Messuage or Tenement situate at
the Corner of Hand Court in High Holborn in the
County of Middlesex To Hold from Midsummer then
last for 16 Years (four Years whereof were unexpired
at Michaelmas last) at the Rent of Ten Pounds
clear of Taxes

That the said Messuage was afterwards
Assigned to your Petitioner and he is now and
for upwards of 20 Years last past has been in
Possession thereof

That the said Messuage is now and ever
since your Petitioner has had the Possession thereof
been kept in Tenantable Repair, but the same having
been Built a great Number of Years, Your Petitioner
is Advised that without a thorough Repair in the
Foundation and other Material parts thereof the
same will not in all probability stand long or be
fit for Occupation

That Your Petitioner is desirous that the
said Messuage may be Surveyed by your Worships
Surveyor that the Expences of the aforesaid Repairs
may be known, and your Petitioner is willing to
Treat for a New Lease of the said Premises or an
Additional Term to be Added to the Number of
Years he has already to come therein

Your Petitioner therefore Humbly Prays
your Worships that your Surveyor may
be Directed to Survey and Calculate the
Expences of pulling the said Premises in
such Repair as that the same may be
Supported and held for 21 Years to be
Computed from the Expiration of the
present Lease in being, and that upon
