This Committee having again proceeded to Examine the Complaint agt.
the Artsmasters
Beadle and Boys referred to their Consideration by
the Order of Court of the 23d day of May Instant which they had before
Examined into on the 29th. Instant Doe find That on Saturday the 19th.
day of the same Month a Letter addressed to the Master of Bridewell
Hospital
was reced from Dr. Hinchliffe Master of Westmr. School
Informing the Govrs. that his Scholars having a Quarell with same
Bricklayers or other Labourers near Tothill Fields
had called on the
Bridewell
Boys to Support & assist them in such Quarell And thereupon
Mr. treasurer
having Immediate Notice thereof Order'd the Gates of the
Hospital to be locked up And Mr. President being also Acquainted therewith
came to the Hospital Examined into the affairs and Contained the
Gates so Shut And a Second Message in Writing being Received from
Dr. Hinchliffe addressed to the Clerk of these Hospitals dated
Tuesday 22d. May giving him an Account that he was informed by
good Authority that the Quarrell which was presented on Saturday
last was to be decided that afternoons and that Assistance from
Bridewell Hospital
was certainly expected, Mr President & Mr
treasurer
Met again and the Gates were Contained Street that
afternoon & Night which Occasioned once Noise & Irregularities
Amongst the Boys in the Hospital but upon Examining into these
Matters no Evidence appears to this Committee of any Agreement or
Engagement entred into by any of the Boys for Supporting her Westmr.
