Continued Thursday 26th. July 1764

Scholars in the aforesaid Quarrell on the Contrary altho the Bridwell Boys
were Sollicited by there Westmr. Scholars who came to Bridwell Hospital
to desire their Assistance they absolutely refused to Join them therein And
as no fact has been made out nor any proof given to affect any particular
person but only the Suspicion of an Intention to Committ an Illegal Act
which (if intended has been preventedly the Seasonable and prudent Care &
proper Cautions taken by Mr. President and Mr. treasurer & Do Hinchliffe
having since sent another Message in Writing to Mr. President and Mr. treasurer
as follows Dr. Hinchlife Presents his Compliments to Sr. Richd. Glyn< no role > & Mr.
Wallington is very much Obliged to them for having Assisted him in preventing the
Disturbance at Westmr. Dr. Hinchliffe has not heard that any of the Boys from
the Hospital al have been down at Westmr. and the Quarroll seems to be at
an End May 25th. and the Westmr. Scholars having now broke up It is the
Opinion of this Committee That the Hospital Gates shall now be Open as
Usuall but to present any Disorders for the future that no Boy shall be
permitted to go out of this Hospital without having a Note (to be printed at the
Hospital Expence and signed ley his Master in the Following from Vizt.

N:B: to be signed with the Name of the Person giving such Lease
And this Committee have also proceeded to enquire touching the Conduct
and behaviour of the Artsmasters in General And also of the Beadles of
of this Hospital and do find that the Artsmasters have been remiss in
their duty and have not conformed to the Rules & Orders made for
Regulating their Conduct And that the Beadles have not performed the duty
of their Office with proper Case & Attention but have pre [..] cated on these
Examinations and been backward in discovering matters within their
knowledge & Observation It is the Opinion of this Committee that the
Several Rules and Orders made Relating to the Artsmasters & Beadles
shall be publickly read in Court once at least in every year when Mr.
President shall be pleased to Direct in their presence and that such of then
as Mr. treasurer is pleased to Order shall be reprinted and delivered to the
Several Artsmasters and Beadles and that the Beadles Except John Brown< no role >
(who hath properly Demeanded himself in his Office of Senior Beadle )
shall be called into Court Reprinanded for their past Ille Conduct and
Admonished to behave better for the future on pain of Expulsion And
Whereas It Appears to this Committee particularly that william Tarrant< no role >
Cabinet maker one of the Artsmasters of this Hospital has sometime since
taken or Engaged in keeping a Publick house at Islington whereby the
Care & Attention Necessary for the proper regulation & Management
