Continued Thursday 26th. March 1752

At this Court the Vacancy of Steward was declared and
Ordered that the Election be at the next Court and Notice thereof
be inserted in the Sumons's.

Hodges Diana Elected
Matron of Bethlem/


Upon Reading the humble Petition of Diana Hodges< no role > Setting forth
That by the Death of Mrs. Rachael Wood< no role > there being a Vacancy
of a Matron in Bethlem Hospital She prays the Governors will
be pleased to Elect her Matron in the Room of the said Mrs. Wood
And thereupon the said Diana Hodges was unanimously
Elected Matron of Bethlem Hospital till the next Election Day and
it is Ordered That she have £10. P Ann Salary as the
former Matrons had.

A Motion being made by Doctor Rawlinson and the Question proposed That after
next Easter for the future no Entertainments be made at the Hospitals
Expences on Easter Monday or Tuesday or Saint Mathew's day either
for the Governous or the ArtsmasterThe Previous Question
was put that, That Question be now put which passed in the Negative.

Ordered That Notice be Inserted in the Sumons's for next Court
To Consider of the Entertainments at the Hospital Expence at
Easter and on Saint Mathews day

Tho Court being Acquainted that the Hempdresser has not for some time past
paid any thing for the Work of the Prisoners whose Diet is provided at the
Expence of the HospitalIt is referred to the Comittee of this House to
Examine into the Matter and consider how the prisoners may be kept to Labor
so as to yeild some benefit thereby to the Hospital.
