Upon reading a Robert from the Comee of this House bearing
date the 17th.instant under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr .
Treasurer Mr: John Lock< no role > Mr: Edward Ded & Mr: John Lee< no role > as follows
At this Comittee the Petition & John Walker< no role > Esqr . was read (which
was referred them by order of Court 3d. February 1743) Setting forthThat the
Governours by Indre dat 31st July 1703 demised to Henry Whistler< no role > Several
peices of Ground & Soil lying and being in Wapping Street near Wapping
Dock and other Tolls and prices of Ground and Soil lying no Wapping
aforesaid on the Thomas SideTo hold from Midsummer 1703 for 61
years at the yearly Rent of £25 which Lease expires at Midsummer 1764
That diverse Messuages or Tenements Warehouses Wharfs and other
Buildings were afterwards builton the said Several Peices of Ground
That the said premisses by Several means assignments are become
vested in the Petitioner for the remainder of the said Term of 61 years
That four of the said Messuages with the Ware houses Wharfs and
apprentices thereto belonging which were in the Several Occupation
of Thomas Turner< no role > John Hall< no role > Captain Landifeild and William
Eades
< no role > all Scituate on the South side of the said Street near Wapping
Dock were burnt down by the late Dreadfull fire there whereby the
Petitioner is lyable to become a great Sufferer the said Messuages
any or [..] thereof them not being insuredAnd prayed that upon
his Surrending up the Lease in being the Governours would grant
him a new Lease of the premes now Standing for the residue of the
Term to came in the old Leaseand a new Lease of the Ground
whereon the said four Messuages with the Warehouses and Wharfs
Stood for an Additional Term to make up the Term in being 61 years
and the Ground rent to be Apportioned as the Governours think fit
and the Petitioner will lay out £1000 in rebuilding the premes
lately burntand Mr. Maxham (who attended this Comittee on
behalf of Mr. Walker being called in proposed to Surrender the Old
Lease and take a New Lease of the House which is now Standing on the
Thomas side of Wapping Street and the rest of the premes on the Landside
of Wapping Street for the Same Term as it is to came in the old Lease
and to pay a Fine of £150 for an Additional Term of 41 years
to makeup the Term in being 61 years in the four houses which he
is to rebuild on the Thomas Side of Wapping Street in the room of four
that were burnt thereand the Comee proposing the app [..]
of the rent to be £8 P ann for the said four houses clear of Taxes &
£7 P ann for the rent of the Premisses clear of Taxes Mr. Moxham
agreed thereto Whereupon this Comee having considered the said
proposalls are of Opinion to accept the same upon which the said
Mr. Maxham given a Guinea to the poors boxall which nevertheless
is Submitted to the Judgement of the CourtAnd it is Ordered
this Opinion be reported to the next CourtThis Court having
duly weighed and considered the said Report doth confirm the Same and
order that Sd. Leases made to the said John Walker< no role > Accordingly.

Upon reading the humble petition of Susanna Tantum< no role > Widow Relict
and Administratrix of her husband Joseph Tantum< no role > deceased & Roger
Winnell
< no role > of the parish of St. John at Wapping Painter Setting forth
That the Governours by Indre of Lease dat 15th. May 1744 demised
wth Petitioner Susanna Tantum all that peice or parcell of Ground
or Soyle with the Two Messuage or Tenements thereon lately
Erected and built and now in the Occupation of the-Petitioner
Roger Whinnell< no role > & John Stock< no role > Scituate on the Ease Side of the
Street formerly called Gravel lane and now Wapping Dock Street
containing in front from North to South towards Wapping Dock
Street 36 feet 6 Inches of assize little more or less and in depth from
