Friday 27th. November 1741.

Ballotwhen it begins the Doors
to be lockt & the keys laid upon
the Table till it be over}
NB This Ordr Repeald 8 Oct 1742 (pa. 165)


The Question was put that for the future when a Ballot begins the Door
be lockt and the Keys laid upon the Table till the Ballot be over
Whereupon Mr. President declared his Opinion that the plurality of hands
was for the Affirmative but a Poll being demanded those who were for the
Negative were desired to withdraw in the Court Room and Fellers were
appointed Vizt Mr. Deputy Pycroft and Mr. Edward Dod< no role > who reportal to
the Court that the Number of Governors for the Affirmative was 14 and
for the Negative 13.Whereupon it is Ordered that for the future
when a Ballot begins the Door be lockt and the Keys laid upon the Table
till the Ballot be over and that this be inserted in the Tickets instead
of What was formerly directed.

Mr. William Cooke< no role > one of the Artsmaster s of this Hospital complained
to this Court of his Apprentice William Hill< no role > (who is now in the Porters
Lodge) for neglecting his business and spoiling his work and being very
disorderly in the family It is Ordered that the Consideration of the
saint Complaint be referred to the next Court.

Mr. President acquainted this Court that John Satchwell< no role > a Prisoner
at the last court was taken into the Workhouse of St. Saviours Southwork .

Ordered that Joseph Low< no role > a Prisoner at the last Court be Cloathed and
put Apprentice as the Treasurer shall direct on proper Certificates.
