Upon reading the humble Petition of John Gerner Cordwainer Settingforth That he
Servd his Apprenticeship to Francis Read< no role > one of the Artsmaster of this Hospital by Indre
dated ye. 23d. of Febry 1720 and by an Order of this Court ye. 12th. day of July 1729 he was on the
4th. of December last made free of this City and is Set up for himself in his said Trade
Mr. Garners in Plowmans Rents Turnmill Street by Clerkenwell Green And
Mr. Treasurer Reporting to this Court That the Comittee of this House on the 23d day of
May last inspected the Book Kept of Apprentices behaviour and found on Complaint against
himIt is Ordered That Thomas Pindar< no role > Esqr . Robert Gay< no role > Esqr . and Mr.
Deputy Vincent three of the Governors of these Hospitals any two of them be desired to
enquire whether the said John Garner< no role > be sett up in his said Trade and of his hopefullness
therein and to make their Report to the next Court.

Upon reading the humble Petition of John Hadden< no role > of London Gentleman
Settingforth That Mr. Joseph Mayne< no role > his Wifes former husband and himself in
right of his Wife have been Tenents of a House (No. 4) in Fowks Court under a Lease
from the Governors of these Hospitals for 24 years at the Rent of £26
P Ann which is now expirdThat he is willing to take a new Lease thereof
for 21 Years to comence from Michas next at the old Rent of £26 P AnnAnd
Praying That the Governors will grant him a new Lease according to his said Proposal
It is Ordered That it be referred to the Comttee of this House to
consider of the said Petition and to report their opinion therein to this Court.

Upon reading the humble Petition of the four Beadles and Portersman of this
Hospital for their usual Gratuitys of Forty Shillings a Peice in respect of the half year
ending at Midsummer last for that their Salarys are but small It is Ordered That
the Clerk of these Hospitals do give and pay unto them Forty Shillings a Peice to be
allowd him in his next Account

Upon reading the humble Petition of the three Beadles or Basketmen of
the Hospital of Bethlem for their usual Gratuitys of Twenty Shillings a Peice in
resect of the half year ending at Midsumer last for that their Salarys are but small
It is Ordered That the Clerk of these Hospitals do give and Pay unto them
Twenty Shillings a Peice to be allowd him in his next account.
