Upon Reading the humble Petition of Margarett Saunders< no role >
Widdow Setting forth That by the Late fire that happened
in Tower Street and water Lane She had the misfortune to have
Six houses destroyed five whereof She held from Christs hospitals
and the other of the Said houses (being an house in the occupacon
of Mr Tilden) which was Lett by Lease at £12, P Annu Ground
Rent was given by Mr Fowk's between Christs hospital and
the hospitals of Bridewell & Bethlem and which Lease together
with the other came by purchase to the Petr whereupon she
pays Six pounds P Annu to these hospitals and Six pounds
P Annum to Christs hospital for the said house in Mrs Tilden
occupacon and at ye time when the fire happened there were
about Seventeen years to come in the said Houses
and ye Petitioner being a Great Sufferer by the said fire &
to encourage her to rebuild the premes the said other hospll
had Granted to her a new Lease makeing up the said Terme
Sixty one years at ye old Rent and She haveing built or
Caused to be built all the Said houses Except one which fronts
water Lane for the Rebuilding whereof She had contracted and
was advised that a Door way might be convenient to the said
house into Fowks Court and praying that this Court would
be pleased to join with Christs hospital in Granting to the Petr
a Lease of the said Mr Tilden house for the said Terme of
Sixty one years at ye old Rent and that this Court would be
pleased to give Leave unto the Petr. to make and have the
use of a door way (from the Said house now building) into ye sd
Court It is Ordered that ye Consideration of ye said Petition
be Referred to the Comee of this house who are desired to
Report what they think proper to be done therein
