Stewards for the
Election feast 1712}


Also at this Court the Govemors hereafter named Vizt (Mr Wm. Danvers< no role >
Mr Henry Lyell< no role > Mr. John Clarke< no role > Hackney -Mr. John Wallis< no role > -John Conyers< no role > -Esqr
Edwd. Jennings< no role > Esqr . Mr. Wm. Brookes< no role > -Mr Jno. Moreton< no role > Mr Robt Frampton< no role >
Mr Edward Skinner< no role > Mr Secondary White< no role > Nicholas Clarke< no role > of Newington Esqr
were Chosen Stewards for the next Eleccon day of these Hospitals who are
desired to provide a Dinner as their [..] Venice for the Presidt. Treasurer
and Governors to Dine together according to ancient Custome And in Case any
of the said Stewards Elected decline or refuse the same The Clerke is to
Supply the Number of Course

Also It is Ordered that the Election day for these Hospitals be
the first Thursday in August next unlesse the Governors of St. Bartholemew
Hospital have appointed the same day for their Election And then
the Election day for these Hospitals to be on the Second Thursday
in August next.

Also Complaint being made unto this Court by Jeffrey Gillingham< no role >
Pinmaker one of the Artsmasters and also Chappell Warden for this
Hospital for the year last past That one Thomas Whitehead< no role > being
Chosen in his turn to be Chappell Warden for the said Remit
for this present year refuses either to hold the Office or to pay the usual
find upon pretence that he is only a Lodger with his sister Whereas he
has kept the house where he now lives in the precinct of this Hospital
for severall yeares and if the house was lately taken in the name of
his sister it was done wth. designe only to Evade serving the Office
of Chappell Warden which is of ill Example and will be a prejudice to
this Hospital and Precinct unlesse some Care be taken to prsent the
like unconveniecy for the future Itt is Ordered That it be Referred to
the Comee of this house to Examine into the matter of the sd Complaint
and to Report to this Court what they thinke proper to be done therein

Also upon reading the humble petition ofThomas Francis Godman< no role > Settingforth
That he had been Tent by Lease from the Govrs. of this Hospital for one & twenty
yeares of a house and wharfe and other things su [..] new King Edward Staires
in the Precinct of this Hospital at the Rent of Seventeen pounds P Ann which
Lease Expired at Lady Day last And praying to have a Abco Lease of the same
premisses for another Terme of 21 Yeares undr. the same Rent and Covents
as are contained in his former Lease And that in regard the prmisses
are much out of Repair and the Petr haveing alwayes paid his Rent
