Robert Porter proceedingsdefend This name instance is in set 31234706. , (a Boy ) of the Parish of St. Giles Cripplegate , was indicted for stealing forty six Yards of Callicoe, valued 3 l. 10 s. from William Molder proceedingsvictim . The Evidence depos'd, that the Prisoner came into the Shop, and took the Goods off the Shelf, which he plac'd upon the Counter ready to convey away; but being discover'd, was taken. He pretended he was coming along the Street, and another Boy threw his Hat into the Shop, and he went in to fetch it, but did not meddle with the Callicoe; which not being believ'd, and he having no Witness to the Reputation, was found guilty .
