thereto, threatening to accuse the said John Cookson< no role > of a crime punish
-able by law with death, transportation, pillory, or some other infamous
punishment , with a view and intent to extort and gain money, goods,
wares, or merchandizes from the said John Cookson< no role > so threatened and
accused. Dated Nov. 17, 1780.

by false pretences, obtaining from him 5 guineas, with intent to cheat
