The Affidavit of Joseph Cox< no role > of Deptford in the County
of Kent Broker and Joseph Hales< no role > of the same place Distiller
Make Oath as follow (that is to say) That they these
Deponents did last Night being the Twenty Eighth
Day of February Instant go into Gloucester Court Black
Fryars to find out Mary< no role > the Wife of Joseph Carey< no role >
of Gloucester court aforesaid Sawyer And these Depts. at the Same Timewaswere Informed by the
Neighbours that livesin the Said Court which Information
they believe to be true that there was no Such person as
Mary< no role > the Wife of Joseph Carey< no role > lived there But that there
was one Mary Carey< no role > a Comon Woman of the Town that
Lodged in the said Court and a person of no Credit or
Reputation And these Deponents do also on their
further Oath Say That they Did on the Same Evening
go into princes Street near Lincolns Inn feilds to find
out if one John Smith< no role > a shoemaker lived there
As was Sworn in an Affidavit made by Stephen
Mc. Donald and the said Mary Carey< no role > in this Court
And these Deponts. Say that the said princes Street
being but a very Short Street that they made Inquiry
