William Scroop< no role > maketh oath that he
was heretofore duly bound Apprentice by the Governors
& Guardians of the hospital for the Maintenance and
Education of exposed & deserted Young Children to
Paul Bawrie< no role > of half Nichol Street in the Parish
of St Matthew Bethnal Green in the sd County Weaver
(he being then nine Years old) untill he Shod arrive to
his Age of twenty four Years That he served his
Sd Master there for about the Space of ten years
When he left his Sd Master Without his Consent
& went into the Sea Service & Continued therein for
about four Years & then returned to his Sd Master
& by Agreement between this Deponent & his Said
Master & in Consn of Eight Guineas paid by him
to his Said Master his Said Master discharged
him from his Said Apprenticeship and the
Indentures were exchanged & delivered up
That he this Deponent never rented a house
of the Yearly rent or Value of Ten Pounds
nor ever Served any Parish office nor ever
did any Act to gain a Settlement Since his Apprenticesp
That he hath a wife named Elizabeth< no role > & a Child
Named William< no role > Aged about Seventeen Months
the lawful Issue of this Deponent by his Sd wife
to whom he was lawfully married
