Richard Robinson proceedingsdefend , of the Parish of St. Clement Danes , was indicted for privately stealing a Silver Sword, value 40 s. from the Person of Giles Earl proceedingsvictim , Esq ; on the 10th Instant. The Prosecutor depos'd, That as he pass'd by St. Clement's Church , there was a Stand of Coaches, and he felt his Sword snatch'd from his side, and catch'd hold of a Fellow with the Sword in his Hand, who got from him, slipt under a Crach-Pole , and ran up St. Clements Church yard; he pursuing as fast as he cou'd, heard some body cry stop Thief , and the Prisoner was taken running and crying the same, but no Sword upon him, not could the Prosecutor be positive he was the Person who took it, whereupon he was acquitted .
