| Examination Text | The Examination of Mary Gordon lodging at No.13 Charles Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this second Day of June in the year of our Lord 1784. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 31 years of age, that she never was married (except to Thomas Rock who died about 9 months ago after the manner of the Church of Rome at Lincolns Inn Chapel 10 years ago), that she was on the 18th Day of March in the year 1775 delivered at the house of Mr Robinson on the East side of Bedford Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields of a female bastard (child since christened Catherine) yet living and now with this Examinant. Sworn the day and year first above written before William Hyde. |
