Examination TextJane Rawlinson aged 20 years lodging with Mrs Cooper at Mr Adams's a Wine Cooper in Charles Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married nor bound an apprentice, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Murray a Stay Maker (near St Martin's Lane) in Chandos Street in the Parish aforesaid for the space of one year and six months all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about two years and an half ago, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 21st Day of January 1783 before William Hyde.
