Examination TextThe Examination of Jane Frazer removed by an order of removal from the Parish of St. James Westminster to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this 22nd Day of December 1780. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 25 years of age, that she never was married bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Moor a Victualler in Kings Court in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 15 months all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about one year ago, And this Examinant on her voluntary oath further saith that she is now big with child or children which is or are likely to be born a bastard or bastards and to become chargeable to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, and that John Sanders a Leather Dresser to be heard of at the sign of the Lamb and Flagg in Bermondsey Street had carnal knowledge of her body about the Easter Holidays last at the house of Mr Bright a Breeches Cleaner on Lamb Green in Bermondsey Street on a bed up one pair of stairs at the said Mr Bright's house and several times afterwards at the same place at which time or one of which times he the said John Sanders did beget her with child children she now goeth with and is pregnant off, and that he the said John Sanders is the true and only father thereof and no man else. Sworn the day and year first above written before Jacob Fletcher.
