Examination TextElizabeth Clark aged near fifty years lodging at a House in Tenements in Bayley's Alley in this Parish where she hath lodged half a year Saith she is the wife of John Clark gone from her four and twenty Years ago to whom she was marryed at Oxford twenty nine yearsago that she hath not seen him since but hath heard that he is since marryed to another woman but where he lives or what Business he now follows knows not nor hath she heard Saith he is by Trade a Haberdasher of Hats and served his Time next Door to the Bear Tavern in the Strand Saith he afterwards kept House next Door to the one Tun Tavern in the Strand four years paid fifty Pounds by the year Rent and Parish Taxes that he quitted the same twenty five years ago and never kept or took any house rented ten Pounds by the year or paid any parish Taxes Since that she hath no Children Sworn the 23d Day of February 1735 Before Jas Fraser Eliz Clark
