Examination Text | Samuel Auvrie aged near seventy years (in the Workhouse) Saith he is by Trade a Cabinetmaker and served his Time to that Business in ffrance where he was born Saith he kept house next Mr Amiot's in Newport Street within the Parish of St Martin in the ffields for six years paid thirty Pounds yearly Rent and all Taxes left the same about seven years ago and never hired any house afterwards rented ten pounds by the year paid any parish Taxes or was a yearly hired Servant that he hath been a widower several Years and hath now five children living who are all marryed or at Service in England and elsewhere |
