| Examination Text | Katherine Shorter the wife of William of Durham Yard upon her Oath Saith that John MacFarland now on board the Hampton Court Man of War at Lisbon was a yearly hired Servant to her Husband William Shorter for four Years before Marriage to Ann his Wife which was at the Fleet about six Years ago that he had about forty shillings by the Year Wages and Diet & Lodging and that he never kept any House rented ten pounds by the year paid any Parish Taxes or was a yearly hired Servant except to her Husband afterwards that he hath by Anne his said Wife two Children now living Elizabeth aged about two Years and a Male Child about five Days old not yet Christened Sworn |
