be furnished with a small Mop or piece of Spung
and to give him Directions, to rub out Carefully
every Morning at Day light, all Writings whatsoever
of a Seditious or Immoral Tendency,-that he may
observe upon the Walls and Buildings within his
beat. This we Conceive would be an easier and
more effectual Method of obliterating such staff,
than Employing the Constables and Beadles of
the Parish, in the Daytime for that Purpose.
Besides, we are persuaded, that when the Writers
find, that their Compositions, which are usually
executed in the Night time, are never suffered to
meet the Public Eye, they will soon feel inclined
rather to go quietly to their Beds, than spend their
Time(however wickedly disposed they may be)
to so little Purpose in Open Air, at this season
of the Year

We cannot conclude, without availing
Ourselves of this Opportunity, to assure the
Gentlemen of the Parish, that our first Wishes
is to do every thing in our power to Promote good
Order, and establish Peace and Safety through
out the District; And as the Conduct of the
Publicans forms no small part of the necessary
Consideration for Accomplishing so desirable
an Object, we trust, that the Gentlemen of the
Parish will not think it too much Trouble, to
favor us with such Information, as shall enable us
to give, impartially, and with the strictest Justice
Our Assent or Opposition to the renewal of Old
or granting of new Licences at the proper Season

We are Sir
Your most obedient
and humble Servant
R Clark
W Bleamire
