Examined Adjusted and Signed the Accounts of the Overseers
of the Poor for the year 1780 And the Ballance in Hand being £25..0..8
was paid to the present Overseers of the Poor
who gave a Receipt for the
same at the Foot of the Account
At the same time Adjusted and Signed the Watch Account
for the same year where there Appeared a Ballance in the Collectors
Hands Amounting to£103..1..4
Resolved that the Watch Rate for the present year be at 4d/ in
the Pound Rents and that the Vestry Cth use the Books Accordingly
Mr. George Applyed to the Vestry to be allowed 3d/ in the Pound
Rents for Collecting the Poor Rates for the year 1780 And he having Collected
the same to the Satisfaction of the Vestry a Motion was made by Mr. Jones
and Seconded by several Gentleman present And the Question put
whither the said Mr. George Shod. be allowed 3d/ in the Pound Rents for
Collecting such Poor Rates or a Present be made to Him of Ten Guineas
in lieu thereof It was Unanimously Resolved and Agreed that Ten
Guineas be paid to Him as a present Instead of being allowed 3d/ in the
Pound Rents for such Collection And the same to be paid by the present
upper Churchwarden and allowed in his Accounts
